Lao Chai village is just a six-kilometer from the center town. It is also a home where the Black H’mong ethnic minority is living. Lao Chai with the majestic beauty of terraced fields, waterfalls and mountains is a very ideal place for trekking to explore the beautiful nature in Sapa.
Being one of the most stunning spots in Sapa, Ta Van is home of ethnic minorities who are living together in peace. In this village which you will have a welcome feeling at any house of the hospitable people there. You can interact with them, learn about their culture and customs.

Route: Sapa –> Lao Chai village –> Ta Van village –> Sapa
Itinerary
09:00 AM: You start the tour by trekking by yourself from your hotel in Sapa to Lao Chai village of Black Hmong ethnic people about 12km. Here we will discover their daily life and how they make traditional clothes, handicraft, indigo… You will visit the biggest valley here which provides the best view for golden rice terrace field in Vietnam. After Lao Chai village we walk to Ta Van village of Dzay people.
12:00 PM: We will have lunch with the locals here in one of the local houses.
13:00 PM: After lunch we will walk to the rice paddy field where we will have a nice photo session of the amazing surrounding landscapes. A trek through the bamboo forest soon follows which gives you the experience of Vietnam tropical jungle. You will continue along the bottom of the valley to get to the Dzay tribe village of Ta Van to experience their way of life. It is a small group of ethnic people in viet nam with a rich culture and beautiful houses located on rice paddy fields.
14:00 PM: You will be transferred back to the Sapa Hotel by bus. End tour.

Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March

Due to altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February and March.

Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary. You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.
